EMERGENCY SERVICES

At the foundation of Community Action is our commitment to help provide for the basic needs of the low-income population of Fairfield County. Food, clothing and shelter are among the basic needs we strive to address. We help meet those needs through our food pantry (funded partially by United Way), clothing pantry, and homeless shelter for families.

We also offer a homelessness prevention program that provides rent, deposit, utilities, and mortgage assistance to help people facing eviction or foreclosure and possible homelessness. Finally, our Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) offers help to those who face utility shutoff during winter and summer months

Applicants requesting assistance should bring income verification and social security cards for all household members.
